Why VIPV?
The transition towards electric vehicles brings new possibilities for charging the vehicle directly from solar cells integrated into the vehicle bodywork. Studies by Toyota indicate a solar range of up to 50km/day but this depends greatly on the urban landscape and parking habits of the driver.
Solar Jinie VIPV
EnerJIN developed the Solar Jinie VIPV sensor to measure solar irradiance from the surface of a vehicle. The sensor can be mounted on any surface, including lateral surfaces and is powered by a small solar panel. Data is delivered wirelessly in real-time to a remote database using the mobile data network.
